Chicken Chow Mein Recipe

Chicken Chow Mein is the noodles cooked with any meat and vegetables. You can use egg noodles or just the simple one. I prefer egg noodles because of its taste and texture. This dish really looks beautiful with different colors of veggies in it.

Ingredients Of Chicken Chow Mein

For Marinade

  • Chicken 1 cup thinly sliced
  • Salt  ¼ tsp.
  • White  pepper ¼ tsp.
  • Corn flour 1 tbsp.
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp.
  • White Vinegar 1tbsp
  • Beaten egg Half

For Noodles

  • Egg noodles 1 packet
  • Spring onion leaves 2 inch long strips 1 cup
  • Cabbage thinly sliced 2 cups
  • Capsicum 1 julienne cut
  • Carrot 1  julienne cut
  • Onion 1 sliced
  • Sugar 1/2 tsp.
  • Salt 1/2 tsp.
  • White pepper 1/2 tsp.
  • Black pepper 1 tsp.
  • crushed red chili 1/2 tsp.
  • Chili sauce 2 tbsp.
  • Soya sauce 3 tbsp.
  • Garlic 1 tsp. finely chopped
  • Vinegar 2 tbsp.
  • Oil ¼ cup

Method Of Chicken Chow Mein

  • Marinate chicken slice with salt, white pepper, soya sauce, corn flour, and half beaten egg for 30 minutes.
  • Boil noodles with salt according to the package instructions, drain, add 2 tbsp. oil and mix to prevent noodles from sticking to each other.
  • Heat ¼ cup oil fry chopped garlic till light golden add sliced onion fry lightly, add marinated chicken.
  • Stir fry quickly till chicken changes color and looks cooked.
  • Add in cabbage, carrot, capsicum with chili sauce, soya sauce, salt, white pepper, black pepper crushed red chili, vinegar and sugar add boiled noodles, toss well,  lastly add spring onion leaves and remove.
  • Serve hot with ketchup and chili garlic sauce
