Ingredients Of Chinese Chili Chicken

For Marinade

  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. soya sauce

For Batter

  • 1 egg
  • 2tbsp corn flour
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

For Gravy

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 onion, cut in slices
  • 6 green chilies, cut lengthwise and remove seeds
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp. chili sauce
  • 4 tbsp. tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. corn flour

 

Method Of Chinese Chili Chicken

  • Marinate chicken cubes with salt, black pepper and soya sauce. Marinate at least for 15 minutes.
  • Now make batter in other bowl. Beat egg and add corn flour, flour, soya sauce and salt in it. Add little water and make a thick batter.
  • Now add marinated chicken pieces in batter and mix them.
  • Heat oil in a wok and deep fry chicken cubes till they are light golden in color. Fry them all in 2 batches and set them aside.
  • For gravy heat quarter cup oil in a wok. Fry onion till its transparent, add green chilies and water in it. When water start boiling add vinegar, soya sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper and sugar. Mix it well.
  • Dissolve corn flour in water and add in gravy. Cook till it thickens. Now add fried chicken pieces and serve hot with boiled rice or egg fried rice.
