Makhadi halwa is basically suji halwa which is cooked by soaking suji in milk for at least two hours before cooking it. Its taste is much better than the traditional suji ka halwa. This recipe is very famous in the north west. You can also take oil instead of desi ghee.
Ingredients Of Makhadi Halwa
- 1 cup suji or semolina
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup desi ghee
- 3-4 cardamoms
- Nuts to garnish
Method Of Makhadi Halwa
- Soak 1 cup suji in 2 cups of milk and egg in a bowl. Leave it for 1-2 hours.
- Take a nonstick pan and heat desi ghee with some cardamoms. Add one cup sugar and keep stirring it till sugar dissolves in ghee. Don’t heat much or your sugar will turn into brown caramel.
