You can cook haleem with chicken, mutton or beef. Don’t forget to soak all lentils overnight.

Ingredients Of Mutton Haleem

  • 1/2 kg mutton boneless
  • 2 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
  • 2 onions
  • 3 tbsp. red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. crushed cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp. turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp. coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp. all spices powder
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg and mace powder
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup wheat, boiled
  • 1/2 cup channa dal , boiled
  • 1/4 cup mong dal , boiled
  • 1/4 cup red lentil , boiled
  • 1/4 cup arhar dal , boiled

For Garnishing

  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Lemon
  • Fried onions
  • Green chilies, chopped
  • Ginger, finely sliced

Method Of Mutton Haleem

  • Cook mutton with garlic ginger paste, red chili powder, turmeric, cumin seeds, salt. Add required amount of water and cook till mutton become tender.
  • Now shred the mutton.
  • In a blender, blend the boiled lentils and boiled wheat. Now add this lentil mixture in meat mixture and add more water in it.
  • Let it cook on low flame till all ingredients mixed together. Now add nutmeg and mace powder and all spices powder.
  • Heat oil in frying pan and fry 2 sliced onion till light golden. Add these fried onions with oil in haleem.
  • Serve hot with all garnishing.
