Mutton Stew Recipe

Mutton Stew is made with whole spices like whole dry chili and whole coriander. Some people make it in gravy form and some like it in dry form. I make it dry. It is really simple and very easy to make. There are lots of stew recipes available on the internet but this recipe is followed by my family from generations. In this recipe, the onions should be equal to the quantity of mutton.

Ingredients Of Mutton Stew

  • 1 kg mutton
  • 1 kg onions, thinly sliced
  • 9-10 whole dry red chilies
  • 2 tbsp. garlic ginger paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp. turmeric powder
  • 1/2 kg yogurt
  • 2 tbsp. whole coriander, crush it little
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1tsp all spices powder

Method Of Mutton Stew

  • Take a pot and put mutton and sliced onions in it. Add enough water that will make mutton tender. Now add ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder and whole red dry chilies.
  • Cook till mutton is half done. Now add yogurt and crushed coriander. Cook till mutton is fully cooked. Now add oil and all spices powder. cook on full flame till it leaves oil and all water dries up.
  • Serve with tandoori roti.
