Natural Treatment Of Fungal Infections

There are many microorganisms that live on our skin and in our bodies, and while most of them are harmless, certain types like selected fungi or overgrowths of normally harmless types can cause fungal infections of the skin.

The latest studies show that the natural remedy of fungal infection is in vitamin B3, also known as niacin or nicotinic acid. Vitamin B3 has natural powerful anti-fungal properties.

In the Canadian study, they reported that vitamin B3 could inhibit the functions of an enzyme, which is essential for the survival and growth of the Candida yeast. Vitamin B3 could even resist infections caused by drug-resistant strains.

Antifungal drugs are usually used to treat fungal infections, but they have side effects including the potential for liver damage, allergic reactions, and, in women, changes in estrogen levels. Natural antifungal treatment without these risks would be a safer option. In addition, some infection-causing fungi become resistant to the medications used to treat them, which can make the infection more difficult to eradicate.

Natural Treatment For Yeast Infection

  • One such natural treatment is the use of tea tree oil. This is one of the herbal and natural methods of treatments of yeast infections. It has also been found useful to treat thrush or oral yeast infections by rinsing the mouth with one tablespoon of tea tree oil four times daily. Tea tree oil is also used as vaginal douches in the treatment of yeast infection.
  • Garlic contains antifungal properties that destroy fungus at normal body temperatures. As fresh garlic is crushed, it produces allicin, an active ingredient that kills fungi.

  1. Actually it works much better as a topical. Make a batter of nicotinic acid with warm water, place on affected area. After it cools, apply warm water. Again, after it cools, apply water. Repeat at least 3 times, best if you kept it on overnight. Nicotinic acid dissolves in water but not well, water has to be warm to dissolve nicotinic acid. It is not known why nicotinic acid is lethal for fungus, and that fact itself is not well known. Ingested nicotinic acid can help a little but it does not help (or harm) the immune system – it is a fungicide and therefore in the body (in blood) it’s a heavily diluted fungicide. Use the nicotinic acid form of niacin.
