Acne or pimples may produce long lasting pigmentation in dark complexioned people. This pigmentation is difficult to treat. It is of prime importance to prevent inflammation as much as possible by treating the condition.

The dark spots that can be persist after acne or pimple are caused by “post inflammatory hyper pigmentation”, a common condition in which the skin darkens because of overproduction of melanin. Avoid touching or picking of pimples and other irritants. Use a separate soft towel to dry up your face after washing it.
