Peppermint with its healing powers is back in picture. Scientists have claimed that rubbing peppermint extracts across the forehead can cure a headache faster than conventional painkillers.

A study showed that 95% volunteers who applied the extract felt relief within two minutes. While the same number of volunteers felt the pain go away in 30 minutes. The peppermint painkilling stick called 4head is available in shops. It can be directly applied to the skin. The active ingredient, levomenthol, is taken from the herb mentha piperita, otherwise known as black peppermint.

Peppermint oil is also very helpful in headaches, just rub a little on both sides of your forehead, avoiding your eyes.
