Chicken Meatballs Curry/ Chicken Kofta Recipe

The good thing about these meatballs is that you can make them and freeze them in air tight bag. Whenever you want to make them just make curry and add these fried meatballs in it. You can also make this with mutton or beef mince.

Ingredients Of Chicken Meatball Curry

For Meatballs

  • 1 kg chicken mince
  • 1 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
  • 4 green chilies
  • 2 small onions
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp. red chilies
  • 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp. coriander powder
  • 2 tbsp. roasted gram flour (besan)

For Curry

  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 4 medium tomatoes
  • 3 green chilies
  • 1 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp. red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp. coriander powder
  • 1 tsp. whole spices powder (garam masala)
  • 1/2 bunch fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 cup oil

Method Of Chicken Meatballs Curry

  • Pass the meat with onions and green chilies through a meat grinder.
  • Add all the spices, gram flour and ginger garlic paste in mince and mix it well. It should really come together and look sort of like dough.
  • Make meatballs by tightly squeezing the meat. If you do this lightly, the meatballs will break once they are in the curry. Put in freezer for an hour.
  • Shallow fry on medium heat till golden.
  • At this stage you can freeze the meatballs. First freeze them in trays till they are frozen solid, than store them in a box or polythene.
  • Heat oil and fry onions till they are light brown in color. Take the onions out and blend it in blender with tomatoes and green chilies. Add little water to make paste.
  • Now in the same oil fry ginger garlic paste for few seconds and then add the blended tomatoes and onion paste in it. Add all spices which are mentioned in curry ingredients. Cook till the oil separates.
  • Now add fried meatballs and cook for minute or two.
  • Add  4-5mugs of water and cook till the gravy is thick and oil comes on surface. I cooked it like 45 minutes. In the end add gram masala and green coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with naan.
