Chinese Chili Chicken Recipe By Shireen Anwar

For all those who love Chinese food like me and who are always ready to eat Chinese food. This is the easiest and tasty chili chicken recipe you ever have. Try it. You need some boneless chicken and fresh green chilies for this recipe. You can serve it with boiled rice or egg fried rice. It will take 15-20 minutes to make this dish.

Ingredients Of Chinese Chili Chicken

  • 1/2 kg boneless chicken in cubes

For Marinade

  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. soya sauce

For Batter

  • 1 egg
  • 2tbsp corn flour
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

For Gravy

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 onion, cut in slices
  • 6 green chilies, cut lengthwise and remove seeds
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp. chili sauce
  • 4 tbsp. tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. corn flour

 

Method Of Chinese Chili Chicken

  • Marinate chicken cubes with salt, black pepper, and soya sauce. Marinate at least for 15 minutes.
  • Now make batter in other bowl. Beat egg and add corn flour, flour, soya sauce and salt in it. Add little water and make a thick batter.
  • Now add marinated chicken pieces in batter and mix them.
  • Heat oil in a wok and deep fry chicken cubes till they are light golden in color. Fry them all in 2 batches and set them aside.
  • For gravy heat quarter cup oil in a wok. Fry onion till it is transparent, add green chilies and water in it. When water starts boiling add vinegar, soya sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, and sugar. Mix it well.
  • Dissolve cornflour in water and add in gravy. Cook till it thickens. Now add fried chicken pieces and serve hot with boiled rice or egg fried rice.

    the picture shows green onions and green peppers as well….but the recipe does’nt….please let me know if i have to add those with the regular onions as well .Thanks
