Freckles are common among people with fair complexion. They are induced by exposure to sunlight. Freckles are usually small flat brown marks arising on the face and other sun exposed areas. Our skin pigment produces more melanin when exposed to the sun creating tiny dark clusters of skin cells. These are more prominent in summer but fade or disappear in winters.

As the person ages this type of freckle generally become less noticeable. Freckles are not so difficult to treat but have a high recurrence rate and tend to come back.

The simplest means of preventing freckles is to use sunscreen lotion on regular basis, no other particular treatment is necessary. Use sunscreen throughout the year.
