The main ingredients of this soup include rice, lentils, and carrots. Following recipe served up to 4 persons. Some people also add boiled chicken in it. You can add if you like to.

Mulligatawny Soup

Ingredients Of Mulligatawny Soup

  • 4 Carrots grated
  • 4tbsp butter
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  •  Green chili (optional)
  • 2 cups red Lentils (masoor daal)
  • 4 cups Stock
  • 2 tsp Curry powder
  • 3 celery stalks, diced
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • Pepper to taste
  • 4 tbsp Rice boiled

Method Of Mulligatawny Soup

  • Saute onions , celery stalks and  green chili (optional) and carrots in butter.

    Stir in curry powder.  Now add the stock and lentil and let it cook.

    When lentil got soft and thick then blend it in a blender and put back in pot and season it with salt and pepper.

    Cook for few minutes till soup gets thick.

    Now add boiled rice and some cream and serve with lemon.

    Garnish with chopped parsley
